Hour of Code
Since 2013, a non-profit organization called Code.org has worked to promote computer science education in all schools through an annual event called Hour of Code. The event is designed to introduce all students to the logical thinking skills and creativity that coding requires. Nebraska currently has over 2,600 open computing jobs with average salaries nearly twice the overall average salary in the state. But even if you never become a coder, exercising your mind in this reasoned and rational way can carry over into many other areas of learning.
